A Personal Note
Dear Artisans,
In a small corner of Alsace, 11th-generation winemaker Nicolas Laugner is quietly breaking the rules. He uses the exact Methode Traditionnelle as the grand houses in Reims. He uses 100% Pinot Noir — the same noble grape that goes into the world's most expensive Rose Champagnes.
So why is it $21.99? Because it's grown a few miles outside a coordinate on a map. You aren't paying for the multi-million-dollar marketing budgets of the "Big Labels." You're paying for the soil, the persistent bubbles, and the craft.
"Sleek and round-textured with fine bubbles and a chalky, mineral aftertaste. Notes of pink nectarines, cherry blossoms, dried citrus peel and subtle hints of pastry crust."

The Ultimate Endorsement
A Master of Wine and a Master Sommelier. Both, regular customers.
Two of the most elite palates on the planet — the credentials fewer than 500 living people in the world hold combined. Both are regulars at our shop. One of them buys three cases of this exact Rose every six weeks for their private cellar.

Why This Matters
| • |
Our #1 selling sparkling wine, regardless of price point, for 18 years running. Not the #1 rose. Not the #1 sparkling under $30. The #1 sparkling wine we sell, period — including every Champagne, every prestige cuvee, every prosecco, every California sparkling on the shelf. |
|
| • |
Only $2 total price change in 18 years. We've fought the global wine-price hike bottle by bottle and absorbed as much of it as we could. Two dollars, over 18 years, on premium Champagne-method wine. Absolutely unheard of anywhere in the world. |
|
| • |
100% Pinot Noir, Methode Traditionnelle. The same noble grape and the same in-bottle secondary fermentation used by the grand houses in Reims to make $80-$300 rose Champagne. Different postal code, same craft. |
|
| • |
A Master of Wine and a Master Sommelier are regulars. One buys three cases every six weeks. Those are the people whose entire livelihood depends on being right about wine. |

Limestone Soil |
Domaine Allimant-Laugner Cremant d'Alsace Rose NV
Alsace, France · 100% Pinot Noir · Methode Traditionnelle · 12.4% ABV
A pure limestone Pinot Noir made in the same traditional method as the great Champagne houses. Aged 12-18 months sur lattes, disgorged with 4.1 g/L residual sugar. Salmon color, brioche and red-fruit aromatics, mouth-filling and elegant. Drinks brilliantly as an aperitif but also holds its own with charcuterie, salmon, or a dessert with berries.

Salmon-colored, a pure limestone Pinot Noir that opens with a very attractive brioche and fruit aroma on the pure yet intense and elegant nose, reminiscent of red fruits such as strawberries, raspberries and pomegranate. Round and supple on the palate, this is a mouth-filling and charming sparkling wine. — Stephan Reinhardt (Mar 2023)

This sparkler has a typical rose character with notes of crushed strawberry and watermelon knit onto the creamy mousse. Invigorating finish. — AZ (Nov 2023)

And When You Need a Break
The Best Non-Alcoholic We've Ever Tasted.
We all need a break sometimes. Weingut Markus Huber's Layla is 0% ABV sparkling from Austria's most celebrated Gruner Veltliner house — and we honestly wouldn't have guessed it was non-alcoholic if the label didn't tell us.

The Bottom Line
18 years. Two Master-level palates. One extraordinary $21.99 bottle.
When the same bottle is our #1 sparkling seller for 18 years running, when a Master of Wine and a Master Sommelier keep coming back to buy cases of it, when Zuni Cafe pours a single glass for what we sell a whole bottle for — that's a wine that has already made its case a thousand times over. This email is just the introduction, or the reminder.
Grab a bottle, grab the magnum, grab a case at the 200%-return-on-hospitality-budget math. Or explore the rest of the sparkling shelf. Either way, tonight's dinner just got a little more celebratory.
Cheers,
— James Tran
