“Elegant, with an appealing, creamy nappe to the texture as it carries notes of ripe pear, peach skin, blood orange peel, green almond and orchard blossoms. A tangy streak of salinity and lively acidity focus and refresh the finely woven flavors and nicely spicy finish. Drink now through 2029.”

Vie di Romans Pinot Grigio “Dessimis” 2022

“Opening to a mildly copper-tinged appearance, the Vie di Romans 2022 Friuli Isonzo Pinot Grigio Dessimis rests on the lees in barrique for nine months to produce extra textural richness and softness. This wine offers a very pretty bouquet with elegant hints of grapefruit, Pink Lady apple and dragon fruit. There is a hint of the exotic, but it remains very mild. In all, I would describe this as a classic Friuli Pinot Grigio profile.”

“The moment you lift the glass, the nobleness of Pinot Grigio (Pinot Gris) is known. This is the true essence of the variety, with a cascade of aromas that can make one shudder: baked apples layered with spice and drizzled with warmed honey as pressed flowers accompany, roasted almonds crumbled on top. Subtle mineral notes dip in and out with each whiff. The palate is an ocean crashing upon the palate with wave after wave of flavors—fresh apples, then roasted almonds, sea salt and fresh herbs, then crushed stone—all the while lifted by a consistent acidity that neither peaks nor ebbs. A wine for now or later, there will always be smiles.”

Twomey (Silver Oak) Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2023
Mendocino County, California
$62.00
$54.97
Save $7.03 (11% off)
“Incredibly consistent year to year, this is a cherry- and raspberry-fruited Pinot Noir with nuances of pine forest and elegant cedarwood. Medium-bodied on the palate, a core of crunchy red fruits is lifted by apple-skin tannins and bright acidity, which gradually softens to reveal a creamier mid-palate beneath a canopy of vanilla-scented rose petals. A lovely and fragrant vintage for this wine.”
