Ratings & Reviews
95 Points - Wine Advocate:
“The Conterno Fantino 2022 Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda, also made with certified organic fruit, takes a different path, showing a more delicate and streamlined personality despite its concentration, structure and generous oak aging. From a tiny 1.2-hectare parcel in Castelletto (Monforte d'Alba), the wine reveals greater nuance with elegant notes of iris root, lavender pastille and crushed flowers that lift the bouquet. If you're looking for power and Nebbiolo elegance in the same bottle, this is a classic expression. It also feels slightly more approachable today than the two Barolos from Ginestra, although all will reward further bottle age. Some 6,630 bottles were produced.” - Monica Larner (Jul 2026)
95 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
“The 2022 Barolo Casteletto Vigna Pressenda is a transparent ruby red hue and offers very attractive notes of strawberries, roses, orange zest, and dried earth. Medium-bodied, it has fine tannins and a graceful profile. Vigna Presenda is one of four single-vineyard Barolo the estate produces, and this site is situated at 320 meters above sea level with south-east exposition in Monforte d'Alba. The wine will be released in May 2026. Drink 2027-2040. - Audrey Frick (Apr 2026)
95 Points - James Suckling:
“A modern style with a balsamic profile, showing a perfumed nose of incense, potpourri and dark cherries, the graphite carrying through to the full-bodied palate. It shines with density, oaky tannins and crisp acidity. Powerful and young yet juicy and balanced. Try after 2027." – JS (Feb 2026)
94 Points - Vinous Media:
“The 2022 Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda is gorgeous. It offers up scents of blood orange, cinnamon, rose petal, dried herbs and sweet macerated cherry, all in a mid-weight style that is undeniably appealing. This alluring, beautifully perfumed Barolo is all charm. It’s the most expressive and complete wine in this range. This was the first fruit picked in 2022.” – Antonio Galloni (Jan 2026)
