About the Winery:
Domaine Emmanuel Rouget is an essential reference for any lover of Burgundy wines. Heir to the genius of his uncle Henri Jayer, known as the "Pope of Pinot Noir" (Jayer passed away in 2006, he was the creator of some truly magnificent Vosne-Romanée wines), Guillaume Rouget and his wife Laure Guilloteau purchased the estate in 2023 and began Les Petits Lieux as a personal project on Jayer's estate.
"Les Petits Lieux is an unpretentious name, meaning "The Small Places". It feels fitting for an inconspicuous set of modest buildings sitting at one of the Vosne-Romanée entries from Burgundy's D974 road. Here, Henri Jayer, the legendary Burgundy producer once lived and made wine.
In 2023, 17 years after his passing, first dibs to buy the property were offered to family members and the great-nephew of Henri, Guillaume Rouget, along with his wife Laure Guilloteau, invested. The project's name, Les Petits Lieux, comes from a quote from Uncle Henri referencing Burgundy's climats, or vineyards: "The winemaker must be modest, or better, humble in the face of so much richness concentrated in such a small place." The key word is small – describing Burgundy's terroirs in general and lining up neatly with Laure and Guillaume's project, made in Henri's small cellar and focusing on small-production wines.
About this Wine:
Hand-harvested and 100% destemmed. Vinification takes place in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Aged for one year in Burgundy barrels, without new oak. The 2024 vintage is only the second vintage for this wine.
Tasting Notes:
Impressive aromatic depth on the palate, marked by flowers, wild black fruit, and a beautiful smoky dimension. Flavorful mouthfeel, infused substance, carried by lovely tannins and a long, mouthwatering persistence: wild raspberry, violet, sweet spices, fireplace hearth, licorice and pencil lead.

Jasper Morris' Inside Burgundy:
"Made from several Comblanchien vineyards, a new wine in 2024. Mid crimson red. A livelier raspberry and strawberry fruit, good acidity, some length to this, quite graceful. Drink from 2027-2030." (Nov 2025)
