About the Winery:
Miner is a dynamic family-owned winery tucked along the eastern hills of the Oakville appellation in the heart of Napa Valley. Founded in 1998 by Dave and Emily Miner, Miner Family Winery crafts reserve-style wines by sourcing fruit from Napa Valley and other specially selected California vineyards.

Our winemaking team uses a combination of old world winemaking techniques and modern technology to make wines that reflect the unique characteristics of individual vineyards or “terroir” where specific varietals grow best. This fusion of superb vineyard sites and thoughtful winemaking allows Miner to deliver elegant, expressive wines.

About the Wine:
Miner Family's Emily's Cabernet Sauvignon honors winery co-founder Emily Miner. The 2022 Napa Valley bottling combines 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc in a rich, savory expression of Napa Valley.

Vineyards: The producer identifies Dalla Gasperina, Castle Rock, Crossroads, Karios, Rafael, Stagecoach and Vyborny vineyards as the sources for this vintage. This is a Napa Valley blend rather than a single-vineyard bottling.

Winemaking: The wine matured for 22 months in French oak barrels, 60% new. It was bottled August 7, 2024, with a production of 1,216 cases.

Tasting Profile & Food Pairings: Ripe black fruit meets mocha, espresso and toasted oak, with savory herbal and earthy accents. Firm, chewy tannins give the wine structure. Pair with grilled steak, roast lamb, tomato ragu or aged cheeses.

Technical Details: 750 mL; 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc; 14.2% alcohol; Napa Valley, California.

Ratings & Reviews

92 Points – Decanter Magazine:
“A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 Emily's is marked by a prettiness and energy that define it as a medium-bodied red wine. Subtle iron-like mineral qualities are nuanced by more expressive aromatics of cedarwood and espresso. The tannins exhibit a slight herbal quality, adding finesse and contributing to a savoury finish. This wine is both very pretty and very stylish, showcasing balance, elegance, and an approachable charm. (Drinking Window: 2025–2032.)” – Jonathan Cristaldi (Feb 2025)

91 Points - Wine Advocate:
"A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, Miner's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Emily's is slightly light in color, a characteristic of the vintage. It's also gently herbal, with notes of thyme and sage accenting ripe cherries on the nose, while the medium- to full-bodied palate features silky tannins and a streamlined shape. It's all very drinkable and harmonious, with an appealing touch of mocha on the soft finish. Enjoy this solid value on the young side, over the next several years." - Joe Czerwinski (May 2026)

90 Points - The Wine Palate:
"The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Emily's is made from 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple colored, it erupts with opulent notes of baked plums and crème de cassis, followed by hints of unsmoked cigars, sautéed herbs, and dusty soil. The medium- to full-bodied palate delivers crisp, lifted acidity with a chewy texture and bags of stewed black fruit flavors, finishing earthy." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Dec 2026)

90 Points – James Suckling:
“Dark, chocolatey and slightly earthy, this offers rich dark berries, baking spices and a hint of cedar. Full-bodied, deep and intense, with very ripe and plush, slightly lifted fruit character. Chewy finish. Try in 2027.” – Andrii Stetsiuk (Mar 2025)

90 Points – Jeb Dunnuck:
“A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Emily's offers assorted red and black fruits supported by notions of leather and leafy herbs, as well as cedar pencil. It's medium-bodied, nicely balanced, focused, and enjoyable, with ripe tannins and solid length. It’s well-made and satisfying. Drink 2025-2033.” (Dec 2025)
