About the Winery:
RAEN Winery was founded in 2013 by Carlo & Dante Mondavi, the two sons of Tim Mondavi. After working with their father in building Continuum, they decided to go off on their own and venture out to the West Sonoma Coast to make cool climate Pinot Noir that can stand on its own on the world stage.

About the Wine:
The RAEN "The Monarch Challenge" Rosé is a vibrant, sustainably produced wine crafted by RAEN Winery to support the Monarch Challenge, an initiative dedicated to eliminating chemical farming and glyphosate use.

The Monarch Challenge movement was founded in 2016 by Carlo and Dante Mondavi to promote clean farming. RAEN (Research in Agriculture and Enology Naturally) releases this special rosé annually, often timing it with Earth Day.

The 2025 Monarch Challenge Rosé hails from a special vineyard block of old vine Grenache farmed organically in line with the Monarch Challenge's goal of a cleaner, healthier, more brilliant planet.

Tasting Notes:
The wine opens with a bouquet of lemon pith, just-ripe white nectarine, and crunchy apricot, all intertwined with wild foraged strawberries and a touch of wet rock. Delicate notes of chamomile, white rose petals, and wet gardenia follow, weaving through the vibrant fruit. On the palate, the Monarch Challenge is fresh and bright, where floral lemon blossom and lively citrus lift the crunchy stone fruits and wild berries. Wet rock and a fine, racy acidity carry the wine through a long, lasting finish.
