Batch Proof is a celebration of Woodford Reserve’s proprietary process – blending barrels into a batch and then bottling the whiskey at its actual proof, straight from the barrel. Batch Proof is crafted using the same grain bill and process as Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon

The 2024 limited-edition, high-proof expression — Woodford Reserve Batch Proof. Presented at 119.5 proof, this release showcases the flavor nuances created from batching 100+ different Woodford Reserve barrels together varying from different dates of production and matured in various warehouses and different floors within those warehouses.

Mashbill: 72% Corn, 18% Rye, 10% Malted Barley

Tasting Notes:

Aroma: Peanut Butter toffee cookie with dried fruit, vanilla, and a dusting of cinnamon spice

Taste: Creamy sorghum butter, clove, and nutmeg

Finish: Long with dry berry medley chutney

"A mouth-watering medley of fruit, sweet, and spice emerge on the nose, with tendrils of cherry cola, Gala apple, cinnamon stick, raspberry Linzer cookie, and cotton candy floating out of the glass. Spice is all-encompassing on the palate, which is hot, but not too much so—a feat given the high-strength ABV. More bright berry notes appear, balanced nicely by dark-roast drip coffee, barrel char, wood spice, rooibos tea, and coffee cake. The finish sees more of that spiced cinnamon coffee cake and some cherry, and while it has some teeth to it, it never bites."

"This year's edition steps up to the challenge of delivering a satisfying pour. For just shy of 120 proof, this edition of Batch Proof is easy to drink, delivering classic scents throughout the sip. Charred oak in various forms is noticeable throughout the entire sip, along with classic flavors of cinnamon and caramel. The midpoint of the sip arrives with a really good mouthfeel, and the nose and finish are delivered with pleasing traits. Overall, this is a really nice bourbon from Woodford Reserve. It may not deliver the intense flavors that some will expect from a barrel proof bourbon, but thanks to its easy to enjoy flavors, it should please the masses."
